In a bowl, mash bananas and prepare a smooth puree. Over ripe bananas are best to bake this bread as they provide full flavor as well keep the bread moist? In case you do not have over ripe bananas, nothing to worry. Just keep the bananas in oven at 200 degree Celsius for 10 minutes.

Mashed Banana for Vegan Banana Bread

Add organic sugar to the banana puree and mix it well. I prefer to use less sugar for my bread as I love the natural sweetness that comes from bananas. If you like your breads sweeter then you can add up to ¾ cup of sugar.

Add oil to the banana sugar paste. You can use olive oil as well for this bread. However I have used rice bran oil in my bread.

    Let’s Bake

Bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 30 minutes or until it passes the toothpick test.

Once done, take the bread out of the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before de-moulding. If you de-mould the bread as soon as it comes out of oven, you are risking your bread to break. Remember the baking is still happening within the bread because of the heat inside. It is still too tender for you to hold. Hence it is important to let the bread rest for at least 5 minutes before you de-mould.

Now slice and serve Healthy Vegan Whole Wheat Banana Bread. I prefer to have banana bread when it is still warm.

      • Thank You Nitasha for your encouragement. This was my first experiment on Vegan bread. I am happy if you liked it. I have my multigrain experiment done and will be sharing Multigrain bread recipe very soon.

    2. Ordinary refined sugar/brown sugar is usually processed with bone char, so it cannot be considered vegan. Any alternatives you would use?
