    How to make cookies without oven or microwave at home is a difficult question to answer. This was when I did not have my Morphy OTG. I was looking for an alternative method to make cookies without oven. I had to research and lot and read many recipes. After a lot of head scratch, I thought of experimenting this bake using an idli Maker. I could have used a pressure cooker to make cookies but felt that idli maker will be easier. After I got my oven, I had made Karachi Fruit Biscuits and Eggless Choco Chips Cookies which are already very popular among my readers.

    No Bake Cookies

    When I was in my learning phase, I have faced a lot of challenges in following available recipes on the internet. When I started writing recipes, I made it a point to keep it simple, detailed, and easy to follow recipes. I have used tutti frutti in these cookies. You could be creative and use chocolate chips, walnuts, resins or dry fruits of your choice.

    Cookies vs. Biscuits

    I know few people call this recipe as Biscuit recipe without an oven. However, Americans understand biscuits and cookies differently. Biscuits in North America is sweet or savory bread which is crusty from outside and soft from inside. A Cookies in North America is a small, flat, sweet baked good. Cookies are little on the chewier side.

    Vegetarian Eggless whole wheat Cookies without oven

    I am a vegetarian person and like to keep my recipes vegetarian as much as possible. Not only that I am vegetarian, I am a health freak as well. I try to find every possible opportunity to convert my bakes into healthy bakes. Keeping the goal alive, and keeping the bake healthier I used whole wheat instead of all-purpose flour. I also avoided using butter and baking soda that made these cookies a lot healthier.

    While I keep my recipes eggless, I do not compromise with the taste. If you follow this simple step by step recipe, you will have extremely nice, crispy on top but soft inside cookies.

    Ingredients

    Items Quantity
    Wheat Flour 1 cup
    Melted Ghee ½ cup
    Powdered Sugar ½ cup
    Milk ½ cup
    Tutti Frutti ¼ cup
    Aluminium Foil

    Instructions

    Mix the whole wheat flour, sugar and tutti frutti in a bowl.

    Start adding ghee and milk and make a mixture. Don’t knead it too much.

    Keep the dough in the refrigerator covered in a foil wrap (in shape of a log).

    After 30 minutes take the dough out of the refrigerator.

    Cut the dough it into pieces and place these on an idli stand.

    Meanwhile, preheat the idli cooker with salt as a base.

    Now place the stand, loaded with raw cookies, in idli cooker and cover with lid.

    Let it bake for 10 minutes on a medium flame.

    After 10 minutes, open the lid and flip the cookies, Cover the lid again let it bake for another 5 minutes on medium flame.
