Undoubtedly, we are a “Foody Family”. We love everything and anything about food. My husband was fed up of eating Parle-G with his evening tea and demanded me to bake choco chip cookies. The elders in the too voiced out with my husband for the choco chip cookies.
I reckon that elders in my house avoid eating baked goodies outside because they are made using eggs. This is common between everyone who follows a strict vegetarian diet. I remember when I made the Walnut Brownie, I could see spark in their eyes. The spark was gone as soon as they realized that I have used eggs in the brownie. They did not even taste it.
They wanted to eat choco chip cookies. But the only way I could have made my elders eat these choco chip cookies were to make them eggless. I know how to make ghee biscuits. Last time when I made ghee biscuit recipe without oven they really liked them.
Baking without egg was ok, but the question was how to bring fluffiness in the cookies? I, as usual, experimented and finally got the right mix of the ingredients to make eggless choco chips cookies happen at home. A sigh of relief after a long working day and a sense of happiness that I will be able to make everyone eat these cookies.
The bakes of this recipe are just too awesome and you will never realize that they are made without eggs. The cookie are crisp from outside and tender from inside. Want them crispier, bake them for 2 more minutes.
Best choco chip cookies
I call them my best cookies because of the love and appreciation I got from all my elders. My mother-in-law has now made these cookies as a permanent inclusion during any get together. Whether it’s a sudden hunger pang, or a tea break, these cookies are a perfect partner. My ladoo needs no reason to open the jar and pick a cookie every now and then.
